The JOVE, SERIES A40 DC WATT-HOUR METER measures, calculates and displays the total electrical energy passing a given point in a direct current circuit. An electronic counter displays integrated energy values as watt hours (the product of volt-amps and time). Retains reading after complete power failure.
Jove determines the current in the negative line of a source or load by measuring the voltage drop across a standard 50mV current shunt (as does the A35 Amp-Hour Meter). It also measures the potential voltage developed in the DC circuit. The potential voltage and current signals are digitized and multiplied. Each sample represents a discrete parcel of energy. When a predetermined number of these parcels has been accumulated, the display advances one count.
A clear fron t cover allows viewing the LCD displaywhile maintaining the integrity of the enclosure. This instrument has been engineered to combine flexibility and ease of operation with high reliability and accuracy.
Shunts of various standard current ratings are available to match your requirements Other shunts may be substituted in the field by selecting a different current shunt range.
